Bear Creek to Beaufort NC

Beaufort boardwalk, first walk in 4 days.

See Dreamer Blue in the back? Rocking her flag.

Beer and pizza. Delicious. And Erik refuses to look at the camera.  Nothing I can do.

After today it felt very good to be warm and dry.  We never fully dried out from yesterday's sail, so when we awoke this morning to sub zero temperatures and had to put on our wet gear, it well, wasn't the greatest.

Not only were we frozen, there was another small craft warning in effect and we had to cross the roughest portion of the ICW, Maw's Point, where the Bay River and the Neuse River meet the Pamlico Sound.  Needless to say, it was a shit show.  No need to go into detail.

Due to the high winds, we made excellent time surfing down the huge waves of the Neuse River and found ourselves in Beaufort in no time.  Our dingy, Nitro (don't ask) certainly enjoyed the ride.  Beaufort looks like an awesome town, too bad we arrived on Thanksgiving and barely anything was open.  We were lucky to find this little cafe that served beer and pizza.

OH- I almost forgot- 2 dolphins welcomed us into Beaufort Harbour today!!  I was so ridiculously pumped I forgot to grab the camera.  Something about dolphins.  Also, apparently there are wild horses in the area that roam the beach across from where we are anchored.  Google it.  Really hoping to see some before we take off tomorrow.

Not sure where we are going tomorrow, we still need supplies since nothing was open here today.  It may be a short day.
