Dolphin sighting this morning.
View from our Swansboro anchorage.
Today's late lunch; quinoa salad with cherry tomatoes, avocado, cashews and feta cheese tossed with lemon juice and olive oil.
This afternoon's reading material.
Yesterday we found the 'Rocking Chair Bookstore' and bought a bunch of books. I got to chatting with the woman who owned this adorable little store and it turned out we had a lot in common when it came to our tastes in books. When she found out we were on our way to The Bahamas, she said I just had to read this book. She tapped away at her keyboard and was disappointed that it wasn't in stock. Then she said, "But you know what..." and reached under the counter and pulled out her own well worn copy. She said, "why don't you borrow mine, and don't worry about returning it."
I swear, the kindness of complete strangers has been blowing my mind lately.
It was tough leaving Beaufort, felt like we could have spent a few more days exploring. It was an amazing stop and we got a lot accomplished; stocked up on food (we nearly ran out during that storm), filled up on water, propane and diesel. Plus we walked. A lot. It felt really good to stretch the legs.
We left at 8am this morning and were anchored by 2pm, a short day, but the wind was good and we had a really nice sail. Tomorrow we do not have a set destination, we are just going to push and see how far we get.
