Rhode River to Solomons

Intense.  I didn't get many pictures but they wouldn't have done our day any justice.  Wave size is notoriously hard to capture on camera.  We started the day expecting 18 knots winds with 2-3ft swells; nothing insane.  Turns out it blew 25 knots all night creating a massive swell. When we got out, unfurled the head sail, it started blowing 20 knots, gusting 25 with 6-7ft chop, real tight together, the worst kind.  As soon as one wave was under our bow there was another one right on top of us.  This went on for 5 hours.  We're lucky we didn't lose our dingy. It seemed Erik was in his element, so I would smile and give him a thumbs up occasionally, but to say that I was fearing for my life would be an understatement.  However, you get to that point where you can let your fear take control or you can embrace it, allow it to enhance your senses and begin living moment by moment; finding comfort in the chaos. Now we are safely anchored up a tiny creek in Solomons , discussing how much we learnt and how easily our boat handled the conditions, she was just out there doing her thing.  Tomorrow we are going to hang out and see what Solomons has to offer.
