Storm's rolling in. We may get a bit of weather tonight.
Erik had a go at the Barber's Shop yesterday; hair cut and beard trim; new man:)
I have read quite a few books that center around Charleston, so when I pictured us there, I envisioned playing the typical tourist, camera in hand, soaking up the history. I have been making a conscious effort to stop envisioning myself in the future this way. It really is a waste of time that serves no purpose, because nothing ever quite happens as we imagine it. It's best to live in the present moment; the only moment we ever have.
Anyways, I did not end up playing the typical tourist. We had a one track mind; fix leaking boat. We've managed to slow the leak and get our bilge pump working, which is perfect for the moment. We are currently anchored up the Ashepoo River. We would like to make it to Hilton Head Island tomorrow, but there are some channels that are ridiculously shallow, so we have to time the tide right throughout the day. We want to hit these shallow parts on a rising tide, that way if we get stuck we can just wait an hour for the tide to lift us off. Getting stuck on a falling tide is a nightmare, you would have to wait for the tide to fall to its lowest point, then rise back up to lift us off; that could be a long day. We'll see how it goes.
