The Lowdown...

I thought I would do a brief rundown of who we are and what we're doing. We're Erik and Chelsea, Erik's an 83' and I'm an 86'. We grew up in the Pontiac, a small, farming community in Quebec. We went to the same high school. Started dating in 2004. We both graduated from the University of Ottawa. In 2007 we packed our car and moved to Whistler, BC, where we spent the majority of the next 3 years, ripping the mountain. In 2009, we bought a 1979, Hughes 35 sailboat in Victoria, BC, with very, very little sailing experience. We sailed her to Squamish BC, where we lived on her for a year, sailing the Howe Sound and traveling back and forth to Whistler for work. We got a really good deal on the boat, as such she needed a lot of work. In 2010 we decided to truck her home where we set her up on my parents farm and spent 3 years completing a refit (more on that later). She's finally ready (well, good enough for now). Our plan is to take her down the East Coast and hopefully wind up in the Bahamas and then figure out our next move. So here we are, just a few days away. God, I hope she floats.
