A little chilly...

*A cold looking beach we passed on our way in for coffee this morning. I am not complaining about the cold, just stating a fact.
*Not much to do on a boat when the weather is miserable, except read my newly acquired book; not exactly my style but I'll give it a go.

The weather was beautiful yesterday, but we spent all day trying to get our depth finder working. It worked when we bought it, it worked when we tested it right before we installed it, and then, when we installed it, it just stopped working. It would either just start flashing at us, or tell us that we were 129ft from the bottom, which is a lie, we are only about 5 ft from the bottom. For those that know Erik well, will know, without me having to go into detail, how long he spent tinkering with this damn machine, exhausting all possibilities and even trying to curse the thing into submission. This went on well into the evening before he admitted the thing was a 'piece of sh*t'. So we biked in this morning and got a new depth finder. We'll try and send the old 'new' one back for some sort of refund, although I'm not sure they'll accept a thousand pieces of shattered plastic in a box. He is installing the new one as I write this. Really hope it goes well.
