Readjusting...
Today mostly consisted of cleaning and organizing, nothing too exciting. Trying to find a spot for everything and attempting to transform this boat into a comfortable living space. It’s going to take some time. We walked into town to get some supplies, it’s a 25 minutes walk, which isn’t too bad but not something you’d want to do more than once a day. I’m anxious to get into a little bit of a routine. Up until about a month ago I had a few things I did daily and considered them non-negotiable. They included my morning meditation, followed by yoga, then I would go for a run, I would try to eat as close to Paleo as possible throughout the day and get plenty of rest a night. Nothing crazy. However, in the last month there has been no meditating, no yoga, no running, my eating habits have been erratic; not even close to Paleo and my sleep has consisted of a toss and turn fest, running over list after list in my head and shaking Erik awake at 2am to see if he remembered to pack the dingy paddles. Anyways, tomorrow I am going to try and carve out a little normalcy, my sanity may depend on it. I’ll start small. I’ve given myself the goal of going for a run and I’ve already scoped out my route so it should be a piece of cake. Here are just a few pics from today. Rock Hall is a damn cute little town. Not sure how long we’ll be here but I could get used to its sleepy friendliness. Tomorrow will be more prepping for the mast stepping on Monday. Once the mast is stepped we will be able to move to a mooring ball and have access to the marina facilities, which we are lacking at the moment because we are just in a slip at the boat yard.
*Walk into town
*Soup and sandwich for lunch at our go-to diner. Best cream of crab soup ever. Erik had a catfish sandwich but wolfed it down before I could grab a proper pic.
*Returning with supplies
*Enjoying our supplies
**On a side note - big win for Abbey Road tonight at The Royal!!!! Love it!!
