*Love waking up on the water
Nothing too exciting today, just our new normal; bike into town for some coffee (we are in the market for a french press so we can have coffee at home, just haven't found one yet), grab a few things we'll need throughout the day and head back to Dreamer Blue to finish up a few more jobs. Believe it or not, we are running out of jobs. I am hoping we will be moving on soon enough. Here are a few pics of our day.
*A few pics on the bike into town
*Helping Erik fibreglass our anchor locker in place. It's funny, I don't dread the boat work so much when I can sit on a dock in the sunshine while doing it
*The sky was crazy tonight
Your weather looks much nicer than ours here in Shawville. Any news on the small leak?

Ya the weather has been pretty decent, although the wind is ripp'in pretty hard today on the tail of a low pressure system.
DeleteGoing to haul out in the next few days and get the oil seal and o-rings changed, and hopefully that will fix the problem. The leak can only come from 3 places: 1. The seals around the prop shaft (most likely) 2. The small o-ring around the oil drain plug or 3. The seal between the lower leg and the gear box......... I don't even want to think about #3.
I started the engine up today and tried shifting into fwd/rev hoping the problem just disappeared, but nope same grinding sound. The oil looks like a foamy emulsion afterwards which is obviously water in oil.
The one thing that gets me is that the oil level hasn't increased any in the past few days, which makes me wonder is maybe the seals have swollen and stopped the leak; not sure.
Anyways the whole thing is a kick in the face, but we'll fix it and hopefully get this boat moving south by next week.
Time to get cold, wet and scared!!
Well let's hope for the easiest solution, but at least you've noticed it now, and not after you set sail. Seems like you a good guy in Lee to help you out as well.
