South Mills NC to Elizabeth City NC

Yes- it was this cold!  Never thought I would actually have to break out the ski goggles, but they were a life saver.

When Erik radioed the bridge they stopped traffic and opened just for us.  Pretty cool.

Our free slip at the Mariner's Wharf.

Pretty uneventful day.  It was a short day because it was so damn cold.  We're staying the night in Elizabeth City and heading to the Alligator River Canal tomorrow.

  1. At this point, are there any supplies you have realized you might be missing? Talked quite a bit about your trip with Kevin, Scott, Rick and Debbie (katies cousins and aunt/uncle). Sounds like something Scott and Kevin always talked about doing. You've got a few more readers now. Rick knew all about your boat as soon as he saw the first photo.

  2. Watch for a boat called Septembers Dream, they are friends of someone I went to school with....they were in Rock Hall same time as you.

  4. Did you have any trouble with the homeless? When I was there, the were very agressive. I was afraid to leave to boat unattended.
